While being alone with a portrayed person, whether it's just a moment or a few-hour meeting, what I value the most is being with another human being and the flow of energy between us. The face of a portrayed person for years has for me been an intricately woven mystery with many unknowns. An endless and indefinite set of characteristics and truths written on it. I am still looking for identifiers, I mark my points like on the axis of symmetry, looking for symmetry, asymmetry, truth, false, sincerity, and trying to grasp what is elusive and change it into non-elusive.  —>

The knowledge of a portrayed person about him/herself often differs from the picture obtained during the portrait session. A photographed person, removed from his/her safety capsule, denuded of his/her self-image, and marked by my perception, is very often surprised by the final result. Depending on a person, meeting, time, moment, we pull out the personal or social identity to the surface. When we concentrate on personal experiences, features and emotions, the social identity stays in the background, and the other way around. Is any of them dominant? I don’t know. In this portrait experiment I am searching for the human being

Pozostając z osobą portretowaną sam na sam, niezależnie czy jest to krótka chwila, czy kilkugodzinne spotkanie, najważniejsze dla mnie jest przebywanie z drugim człowiekiem i energia płynąca między nami. Twarz portretowanej osoby cały czas, niezmiennie od wielu lat, jest dla mnie misternie uknutą zagadką z wieloma niewiadomymi. Nieskończonym i nieokreślonym zbiorem cech i prawd na niej wypisanych.
Wciąż poszukuję identyfikatorów, niczym na osi symetrii stawiam swoje punkty, szukam symetrii, asymetrii, prawdy, fałszu, szczerości, próbując zatrzymać ulotne i przekształcić je w nieulotne.—>

Wiedza osoby portretowanej na swój temat często rozmija się z obrazem uzyskanym na sesji portretowej. Wyciągnięty ze swojej kapsuły bezpieczeństwa, odarty z własnych wyobrażeń i nacechowany moim spojrzeniem bohater zdjęcia bardzo często jest zaskoczony efektem końcowym. Zależnie od osoby, spotkania, czasu, chwili, momentu, wspólnie wyciągamy na powierzchnię tożsamość osobową bądź tożsamość społeczną. Kiedy nasza koncentracja płynie w kierunku osobistych przeżyć, cech i odczuć, na dalszy plan schodzi tożsamość społeczna i odwrotnie. Czy któraś jest dominująca? Nie wiem.
